Shedd Aquarium's Great Lakes conservation initiative, Listen To Your Lakes, educates the public and inspires positive actions to help preserve the Great Lakes region. Clean lakes start with clean beaches. Join Shedd Aquarium's conservation team and give back to our Great Lakes, the world's largest freshwater resource. This is a hands-on volunteer opportunity to directly impact the condition of our beaches and lakes. Donate an hour or two of your time at one of the following beach cleanups: August 14, 2009: Noon-1 p.m. September 19, 2009: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. (International Coastal Cleanup) October 23, 2009: Noon-1 p.m. All cleanups take place at the 12th Street Beach, 1200 S.
